Many times a night at Blingo I am approached with; “I was one away!” by various Blingo patrons. I always smile, try to encourage a next time or make a smart-ass comment , but never really know their pain.

I now know the agony you are dealing with people!

This Saturday I found myself cooped up in a bar doing some day drinking and old lady bingo playing. When it came to the final round, worth $1,000, I sat with one number away until someone else finally called out a very halfhearted bingo to take my winnings! I was livid. I tried to enjoy the rest of my day and evening but would randomly shout out “one away!” or mumble under my breath “N 40…N 40.”
